Whether you're a first-time buyer or a seasoned boater looking to upgrade, there's a show on this list for you. This page is your complete guide to Florida boat shows in 2026 -- dates, locations, tips, and what to expect when you visit us.
Why Attend a Boat Show?
You can research boats online all day long. Specs, reviews, videos -- it's all out there. But there are things you simply can't do from your couch. A boat show fills those gaps fast.
See Boats in Person
Photos don't tell the whole truth. A boat that looks enormous online might feel cramped when you step aboard. The cockpit layout that seemed perfect on paper might not work for how you actually fish. At a show, you walk the decks, sit in the seats, open the hatches, and get a real sense of how a boat feels. That's worth more than a hundred YouTube videos.
Compare Brands Side by Side
This is huge. At a dealership, you might see one or two brands. At a boat show, you can step off a Robalo R272 and walk directly onto a Grady-White Freedom 275 to compare fit, finish, and layout. That kind of back-to-back comparison is almost impossible outside of a show environment.
Show-Only Pricing
Let's be honest -- this is why a lot of people go. Manufacturers and dealers offer incentives that are only available during show weekends. We're talking about savings that can run into the thousands. These aren't gimmicks. They're time-limited deals tied to show commitments, and once the show ends, so do the prices.
Talk to Experts
Our team doesn't just sell boats. We fish these waters and we've been doing it in Southwest Florida for over 30 years. At the show, you can talk to someone who actually knows the difference between running Pine Island Sound on a Robalo 246 versus a Grady-White 251 -- and why it matters for how you use your boat.
Get Financing Pre-Approved
Why wait? At most shows, you can get pre-approved for financing right at the booth. That way, when you find the boat you love, you already know what you can afford. No guessing, no waiting. Just a clear number and a path forward.
Schedule a Sea Trial
A boat show is a great place to set up a sea trial for the following week. See it at the show, ride it on the water, then make your decision. That's how smart buyers do it.
Boat Show Tips From the Pros
We've worked hundreds of boat shows between our Fort Myers, Naples, and Bonita Springs teams. Here's what we tell friends and family before they go.
What to Wear
Comfortable shoes. You're going to walk. A lot. Most shows are outdoors or partially outdoors, so dress in layers -- it can be cool in the morning and hot by noon during a January show in SWFL. Sunglasses are non-negotiable.
What to Bring
- Sunscreen. Even in winter, the Florida sun is no joke.
- Water bottle. Stay hydrated. Show food is expensive and lines are long.
- A tape measure. If you're serious about a specific boat, measure the cockpit, the storage compartments, the berth. You'll thank yourself later.
- Your phone. Take photos of every boat you step on. By the end of the day, they blur together. A quick photo of the model name helps you remember.
- A notebook. Jot down model names, prices, and the name of whoever you talked to. Old school, but it works.
How to Navigate a Big Show
The Miami International Boat Show and FLIBS are massive -- hundreds of exhibitors spread across multiple venues. If you try to see everything, you'll be exhausted by lunchtime.
Pick three to five boats you want to see before you go. Hit your must-see list first, then wander. You'll enjoy the experience more if you knock out your priorities early.
Best Time to Go
If the show runs multiple days, go on a weekday. Saturdays are packed. Sundays are packed. A Thursday or Friday morning? You'll have room to breathe, shorter wait times to board boats, and more time with each exhibitor. If you can only go on a weekend, arrive right when the gates open.
How to Take Advantage of Show Pricing
Show pricing is real, but it's time-sensitive. If you've been researching a boat for months and the price at the show is right, don't wait until "next week" to decide. These deals expire when the show ends. We're not trying to pressure you. But if you've done your homework and the numbers work, the show is the time to act.
What to Expect at the Fish Tale Boats Booth
When you visit us at any show on our calendar, here's what you'll find.
Our Brands on Display
We bring a selection of boats from all four of our brands:
- Grady-White -- The gold standard in saltwater fishing boats. Dual consoles, center consoles, and walkarounds built for serious offshore and coastal use.
- Robalo -- We're the #1 Robalo dealer worldwide for seven consecutive years. From the versatile R200 to the flagship R402, Robalo delivers performance at a value that's hard to beat.
- Chaparral -- Sport boats and SSi models perfect for family fun, watersports, and cruising around Estero Bay or the Caloosahatchee.
- Premier Pontoons -- Premium pontoon boats for family outings, sunset cruises, and sandbar days. Comfortable, stable, and surprisingly quick.
The specific models on display change from show to show, but we always try to bring a range that covers fishing, family, and everything in between.
Financing and Trade-Ins
Don't just browse. If you're even half-serious, stop by and talk numbers. We offer financing pre-approval on site, and we can give you a ballpark trade-in valuation on your current boat. Knowing your trade value and monthly payment makes the whole buying decision a lot clearer.
Show-Only Specials
Every show features exclusive pricing you won't find at the dealership -- manufacturer incentives, rebates, and dealer offers locked to the show dates. Our team will walk you through exactly what's available.
No-Pressure Expert Advice
We've been a family-owned dealership since 1996. The Fricke family started Fish Tale Boats because they loved the water and wanted to help others enjoy it too. Our people at the booth are there to answer questions, not to hawk boats. If the right boat for you isn't one of ours, we'll tell you that.
Which Show Is Right for You?
Not all boat shows are created equal. Here's a quick breakdown to help you pick the right one.
For the Spectacle: Miami International Boat Show and FLIBS
The Miami International Boat Show and Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) are bucket-list events. Superyachts, hundreds of exhibitors, and an energy you won't find anywhere else. Great if you want to see the full breadth of the boating world, and a solid trip for serious buyers who want to compare a lot of brands in one place.
For Serious SWFL Buyers: Fort Myers and Naples
The Fort Myers Boat Show and Naples Boat Show are where most of our local customers come to buy. These shows are sized right -- big enough to have real selection, small enough that you won't need a map and a Sherpa to get around. Plus, you're dealing with local dealers who know the waters you'll actually be boating on.
If you're a buyer in Fort Myers or Naples, these are your shows.
For a Relaxed Experience: Charlotte County and Bonita Springs
The Charlotte County Boat Show and Bonita Springs Boat Show are smaller, more relaxed affairs. Fewer crowds, more time to talk, and a low-key atmosphere that's perfect for first-time buyers or anyone who doesn't love fighting for parking at a mega-show.
For an Intimate Fish Tale Experience: Bonita Bay Marina
The Bonita Bay Marina Boat Show is presented by Fish Tale Boats, and it's the most hands-on experience we offer. Smaller setting, direct access to our team, and boats displayed right at the marina. If you want to skip the crowds and get one-on-one time with our experts in Bonita Springs, this is the show for you.
For Collier County Boaters: Marco Island
The Marco Island Boat Show is a one-day event at the Marco Island Yacht Club. It's quick, focused, and a great option for boaters in the Marco and southern Collier County area who don't want to drive up to Fort Myers or Naples.
After the Show: What Happens Next
You found a boat you love at the show. Now what? Here's the typical timeline.
Schedule a Sea Trial
You wouldn't buy a house without walking through it, and you shouldn't buy a boat without running it on the water. Contact us at the show or after to set up a sea trial at one of our three locations. We'll take you out on local waters so you can feel the ride and see how the boat performs in real SWFL conditions.
Get Pre-Approved for Financing
If you haven't already done this at the show, apply for pre-approval online. It takes a few minutes. We work with multiple lenders to find competitive rates, and our financing team handles the paperwork.
Get Your Trade-In Valued
Have a boat to trade? Get a valuation from us. We accept trade-ins on all major brands, and applying your trade equity toward your new boat simplifies the whole process.
Delivery Timeline
Once you've committed, the timeline depends on whether we have the boat in stock or need to order from the factory. In-stock boats can be rigged and ready in as little as a week. Factory orders typically take four to twelve weeks depending on brand and model. We'll keep you updated every step of the way.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the next Florida boat show?
Check our 2026 show calendar above for the full schedule. We update it throughout the year as dates are confirmed.
Are show prices really lower?
Yes. Boat show pricing includes manufacturer incentives and dealer specials that aren't available at any other time. The savings are real -- often thousands of dollars on a new boat. That said, show pricing is time-limited. Once the show ends, those specific offers go with it.
Can I actually buy a boat at the show?
Absolutely. Many buyers put down deposits and lock in show pricing right at the booth. You don't take the boat home that day, but you secure the deal and your place in the delivery queue. We handle rigging, registration, and delivery after the show.
Do I need tickets? How much do they cost?
Most Florida boat shows charge a small admission fee, typically between $10 and $20. Some shows offer free admission for kids under a certain age. Check the individual show pages linked in our calendar above for specific ticket info and any discount codes.
Which boat show is best for first-time buyers?
If you're brand new to boating, we'd recommend starting with the Fort Myers Boat Show, Naples Boat Show, or Bonita Springs Boat Show. They're manageable in size, local to SWFL, and you'll have plenty of time to ask questions without feeling rushed. Our Bonita Bay Marina show is also excellent for first-timers since it's presented by Fish Tale and has a very relaxed, educational atmosphere.
Can I bring my kids?
Of course. Kids love climbing on and off boats, and most shows have food vendors and open-air layouts that keep everyone entertained. Just bring snacks, sunscreen, and patience -- the little ones will want to "drive" every boat they see.
How early should I arrive?
Get there when the gates open, especially on weekends. Early arrival means easier parking, shorter lines, and first access to exhibitors before the crowds build. If the show runs Thursday through Sunday, a weekday visit is your best bet.
Can I get financing at the show?
Yes. We offer financing pre-approval right at the Fish Tale Boats booth. It only takes a few minutes and gives you a clear budget to work with while you shop.
